Design and development for a line of seat covers for the third generation of MINIs: Hatch, Convertible, 5-door, Clubman, Countryman and Special Editions.
This was a complex, challenging program with many moving parts. Operating within strict manufacturing constraints, we delivered an elegant MINI-specific outcome thanks to a highly collaborative team of textile designers, engineers, marketers, and manufacturing / supply chain experts.
Tech Packs and Prototyping
Once a preliminary design direction was set, we prepared tech packs and started prototyping. Many iterations later, working closely with the prototyping shop and manufacturing partners in England and Poland, the result was a cohesive MINI-specific line with maximum potential for differentiation and self expression.
Options
Customers choose from 3 seat geometries offering basic, sport and lounge design options.
Materials range from cloth, vegan leather and cloth/leather combinations all the way to premium full grain leather in a variety of colors. Specific seat and material design for John Cooper Works (Racing) and MINI Yours for high end customization.
